The UK Clinical Research Collaboration brings together the NHS, research funders, industry, regulatory bodies, Royal Colleges, patient groups and academia in a UK-wide environment that facilitates and promotes high quality clinical research for the benefit of patients.



National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (NIHR CRN CC)
The National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (NIHR CRN CC), formerly known as UKCRN Coordinating Centre (UKCRN CC), was established to support clinical research and to facilitate the conduct of trials and other well-designed studies within the NHS.
 
It oversees the development and functioning of Clinical Research Networks for specific types of condition (cancer, diabetes, dementia and neurodegenerative diseases, medicines for children, mental health and stroke, together with the primary care and Comprehensive Clinical Research Networks in England which support research in all areas of disease and clinical need.

The MRC Clinical Trials Unit is a centre of excellence for clinical trials, meta-analyses and epidemiological studies, strengthening and expanding the evidence base for health care nationally and internationally. It coordinates a number of high-quality trials in cancer and HIV, and undertakes research in areas such as rheumatoid arthritis, respiratory disorders, infectious diseases, and haematological disease.
