I am a health care worker and last week I had a needle stick injury at work and there is a HIGH probability than the needle was from someone who has AIDS.
I am afraid my future tests will turn out positive.
Every website I have read only refers to transmission by sex or drugs. Is there anyone who, if I am positive, I can link with or get advice from who has also been infected by accident?
I have not had a partner of any kind for 8 years and just going to the STD clinic is embarrassing for me. I do not wish to go there and wonder if I could find a doctor who would help me outside of the STD clinic?
Hopefully I will be negative and all will be well. If I am positive then I would like to be able to help with any research.
