Her mother had been an independent widowed woman. They had hoped when they were able to move her nearby that this arrangement would be adequate for several years but before long she had to go into residential care.
Husband cared for at home. On medication two years. Attended day centre but went into a home after his wife had a mild stroke. Rapid deterioration in spite of good care. Wife now visits him once a week but he doesn't recognise her or their daughter.
