Away from family and friends, she was very lonely, her baby was unsettled and she weaned prematurely. She still feels guilty about this.

After a caesarean section she had skin-to-skin contact with her daughter for four hours before her baby went to Special Care.

She was isolated from family and friends with her first baby but had their support with her second. She says to accept help when it is offered.

Her first baby was born in the Middle East. She talks about the support that Omani women received from their extended family and how different it was for ex-patriot women.

In desperation, she gave her baby artificial milk which made her baby sleep but quickly led to the cessation of breastfeeding. In retrospect she feels guilty and disappointed.
