Rare Day, an independent production company, is currently developing a cross-media documentary project that will raise awareness about the lives of patients in long-term comatose states. The aim is to reveal more about the challenges faced by this often forgotten population of patients and their families and carers, and provide a much-needed source of information and support for other people going through similar experiences. We would like to make contact with families and carers of patients who were in a coma in hospital, have now left intensive care and currently have minimal signs of awareness and are unable to communicate with their family. We would like to speak to families and carers about their experiences and the care and support that they and their loved one are receiving. Any information people are willing to share during this research phase (on a confidential basis) will be of huge value in helping to develop the shape of the final programme. As the project moves forward there will be no obligation to be involved further. Rare Day is an independent production company that makes high quality and intelligent documentaries and drama. The company was founded by Peter Dale, the former Head of More4 and Documentaries for Channel 4 Television. Current projects include a major Channel 4 documentary series about the lives of young people in the UK. If you would be willing to share your experience please contact Charlotte Wassermann at Rare Day on 020 7729 8699 or by email -charlotte.wassermann@rareday.co.uk
