I see the Parkinson’s Disease Society has completed its rebranding exercise. They’ve changed the name to Parkinson’s UK (unhelpful for members in Oz, NZ, RSA etc), changed all the stationery to the new logo (wow!) and published a few photos of so-called “typical patients” holding banal placards.
I see also that CEO Steve Ford (salary £140k) has declared it a resounding success. Not surprising, as he’d paid external consultants £200k of the charity’s funds for their “expertise”. He also expelled members of his “official” forum who dared to query the wisdom of the project, and deleted or amended any negative postings they’d made. The same zero-tolerance policy towards “troublemakers” was then also implemented by his cronies at PD-Junction. That’s democracy at work for you!
I hope all those pensioners and others who donate their hard-earned spare cash to the PDS – sorry, PUK – realise that their contributions are no longer going on research, or improving the lives of sufferers, as they’d thought, but deposited into the bulging accounts of fat-cat management consultants.
Just think how much real goodness COULD have been done with £200,000.....
