Can anyone give me advice
My dad has just gone into a home. My partner thinks its cruel not to let him see his own home again, which my mum still lives in.
Does anyone know if getting a day pass is possible, more over - is it advisable ??
My mum isn't well enough to care for dad ata home, even with our help.
Thanks for any advice that you can give.
Re:Settling into a care home and getting day release
Hi. I empathise with you. My Nan has recently gone into a home, just for respite but still it looks like it could be longer term.
Of course your Dad can come out. Ask the home, but is shouldn't be a problem. He can visit his own home and enjoy time with his family. You may have to assist in taking him there and back but I'm sure if he is up to it, it will be lovely for him to do that.
Good luck and remember it is so important to maintain family relationships and friends as much as possible. Think also about music therapy, life story work and exercise therapy, Google it!
Take Care
