PAPYRUS is a voluntary UK organisation committed to the prevention of young suicide and the promotion of mental health and emotional wellbeing. Papyrus does the following:

-Supports those who live or work with suicidal young people
-Commissions research and campaigns for change
-Shares expertise and good practice
-Produces resources for families and professionals.

CALM is an award-winning registered charity operating in England and Wales which campaigns to raise awareness of young male suicide and offers help, support and advice via its helpline and website.



University of Oxford, Centre for suicide research

The Centre is based in the University of Oxford, Department of Psychiatry. Professor Keith Hawton is its Director. Professor Mark Williams also leads a research group within the Centre. The overall research programme of the Centre is focused on investigation of the causes, treatment and prevention of suicidal behaviour. The links page provides sources of support for those bereaved by suicide, a list of organisations which offer support to those with mental health problems in general, information for researchers, details of national suicide prevention strategies, and a list of key publications.
