Rachel had a terrible day when she leant that her son David had been killed in Iraq. He had been working for a security company when his truck had been blow up by a bomb.

Rachel’s son died overseas in a bomb explosion. She could identify him from tattoos and his passport photograph. She also saw his body.

Before Rachel’s son died he had told Rachel what he wanted people to wear at his funeral and who should be pall bearers. His girlfriend and sister helped to choose the music.

Rachel found the funeral director helpful. He asked her if she would like to have a lock of Dave’s hair. Dave was dressed in an Arsenal football shirt and various gifts were put in the coffin.

Two years after Dave’s death Rachel still feels raw at times, and day-to-day activities seem unimportant. She 'can’t move on’ and finds life very, very difficult.
