Aged 50 I have just had my prostate removed after being tested positive. I had no symptoms at all. I am trying to write about my experience to record what helped me reach a decision as it is a very difficult period in which you are bombarded with information and then told to make a choice. You can read about it at http://experiencingprostatecancer.blogspot.com A lot of people helped me, hopefully I can give a bit back. I found this website to be very usefull and informative.

Good Day, The first symptom I noticed was increased urination during the night, I was passing water with a good flow and not a dribble. On average I was and still am, am getting up every 1.25 hours during each night and I was more concerned as to where it was all coming from! After I mentioned this to my GP he sent me for a PSA test which showed up as 463, My previous test some 6 years earlier indicated a normal 4. What stopped me getting concerned about my frequen urination was that it was a reasonable amount and with a good flow, I never thought that my symptom was Prostate cancer. I think all the sysmptoms could do with being made more widely available!
