Enjoyed the radiographer's joke about being held in position for his whole body radiotherapy.
Was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1993 after finding an abdominal lump. He had chemotherapy and interferon, followed by a stem cell transplant for a recurrence. In remission.

Had long hair and a beard before his chemotherapy - used humour to cope with the hair loss.
Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosed in 1996 after developing swellings in his neck and face. Treatment: chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a stem cell autograph. Two recurrences. Treatment included an allogenic bone marrow 'mini transplant'.

He didn't want friends to know how serious his illness was because he didn't want to admit it to himself; he wanted them to treat him normally.
Diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma grade 2B in 2001. His treatment consisted of six months of fortnightly sessions of chemotherapy, followed by five weeks of radiotherapy. In remission since 2002.

Had been paralysed by a spinal lymphoma; after months in a wheelchair he walked with crutches, then sticks, then finally without any aids.
Diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma on his spine in 2001 after he experienced middle back pain resulting in paralysis. Radiotherapy treatment put him into remission but it took 2 years for him to regain full mobility.
