Hi.Can I just ask what age people were when they had their CLL Diagnosis, and how long has it been since that time ?
Also, what treatment (if any) have people had, and how did they find the experience of it ?
Thanks.Andy
Re:What age were you when diagnosed ?
Hi Judy.Sorry for taking some time to reply to your post, but I have been quite busy lately with my Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Projects :-).
Firstly, thanks for the info about yourself, hope that your treatment is going well.
regarding your comments about a connection between Leukaemia and your neighbours house, I suppose that there is always the slight possibility that something could be triggering the onset of the disease, in fact I have certainly heard of Radon being noted on Leukaemia websites in the past.I will do some research for you and post up my findings on my website: www.scirocco2morocco.blogspot.com
Best wishes.Andy
Re:What age were you when diagnosed ?
Hi Andy, I was 64 years old when diagnosed with AML. I am half way through nine courses of Azacytadine - on a trial at Torbay Hosp. I would like to tell someone...that when I moved into my present house in 1997, the woman next door died shortly afterwards with some form of Leukaemia...then the male of the couple who moved in after the death of the previous owner...also contracted Leukaemia. Some time later, my husband contracted thrombocythemia (cancer of the blood), then I contracted AML at Xmas 2009. We live in what used to be a quarry (Radon?). A man in the unit at hospital, who also lives over a quarry....has another form of Leukaemia. Could there be a correlation here? The doctors we've told...don't seem to be interested in this at all.
