Abnormal test results


In 2006, Laura was referred for colposcopy and had Lletz treatment. In 2007 she had a cone biopsy for CIN3. In 2008, she had a hysterectomy.

Normal and inadequate test results


Receiving cervical screening test results


Abnormal smear in 1996. Referred to colposcopy clinic. Diagnosed with abnormal cervical cells (borderline). No treatment give. Abnormal smears between 1996-2001. Referred to colposcopy clinic a further two times. No treatment given. Normal smear test result in 2001.
Abnormal smear in 2000, referred to colposcopy clinic. Diagnosed with abnormal cervical cells. Treatment given; diathermy loop excision. No recurrence.
Paula had CIN3 and high grade CGIN in 2007. Lletz treatment and a cone biopsy successfully removed the abnormal cells. Her colposcopy results in April 2008 were normal.
Christine had cervical screening in 2007 using liquid-based cytology. She has always had normal test results.
Normal smear test results. Experience of an inadequate smear.
Tina had cervical screening in 2006 using liquid based cytology. She experienced no discomfort and did not have to return for a repeat smear, so she feels liquid based cytology was a more successful method.
