Attended for first routine mammogram at age 51. Was diagnosed with DCIS. Had a mastectomy and is taking tamoxifen.
Has attended for routine breast screening since age 50. Was recalled once because calcium deposits were found on mammogram. Results were normal then and in subsequent mammograms.
Had first routine mammogram at age 52. Was diagnosed with DCIS. Questioned need for surgery. Researched alternatives and sought counselling. Decided to accept mastectomy and reconstruction 6 months after diagnosis.
