Had routine mammogram at 52. DCIS was discovered. Had lumpectomy. Mammogram 6 months later found more cancer cells. Had mastectomy, and tamoxifen. Was later diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Had first routine mammogram in 2001, which was clear. 4 months later discovered a cancerous lump, that hadn't shown up on earlier mammograms. Treated for invasive breast cancer.

Has attended for routine breast screening since around age 50. Has had a benign cyst, which was aspirated twice. Mammogram results have been normal.

Had a benign cyst about 20 years ago, which returned twice and was removed surgically. Has always attended for routine breast screening and results have been normal.

Had benign lump around age 42, which was surgically removed. Attends for routine breast screening. Results have been normal.

Has attended for routine breast screening since around age 50. Has had a benign cyst, which was aspirated twice. Mammogram results have been normal.

• Cancer >> Breast Screening >> Age 60-69 >> Patricia - Interview 43 >> After a routine mammogram, Patricia was referred to a breast clinic because a cyst was found. It went away by itself.

Patricia had bleeding from her nipple, which was harmless, and a cyst. She always attends for screening and wants to continue after age seventy.

Miriam always attends for screening and one mammogram detected a cyst, which was aspirated. She is pleased all staff in screening units are women.
