Hi
I have an appointment to have a mammogram in a mobile unit nearby.next Tuesday. I still feel a bit jittery and irked after my last expereiences.
Over the years, on two previous occasions a member of the screening staff has made some throwaway comment about the size of my breasts. Yes they are a DD size. I was overweight at the time too. One occasion was at a mobile unit and another at a hospital. I know that I cannot possibly have the largest breasts they have ever come across!!!
Now, I cannot let this happen again, as it did put me off going for my 3 year appointment one year as I felt so vulnerable.
I should have written to the Hospital Trust outlining my previous experience, but I've chickened out. I am 61, but still do not like people making comments like that, especially by a professional.
You are in a very vulnerable situation, stripped from the waist up.... standing by a squashing machine........
I may discuss my concerns with the staff before I go in, and. if they take it lightly and brush me off... I shall take myself off and complain again, and make an appointment somewhere else. I am determined this time to have a better experience and come away only fretting about the result.
(oooh....I may even wickedly stand outside and tell everyone who goes in how tactless they are about boob sizes....!!! lol)
