Reached a point where she decided that she wasn't going to let pain wreck her life.
 
Changed to a different anti-inflammatory drug which doesn't attack the stomach or gut because she had developed irritable bowel syndrome.
 
Was pinning her hopes on surgery and was horrified when it wasn't an option although now realises that surgery is not always helpful.
 
Thinks she would have come to terms with pain sooner if she had been told that she had to live with pain.
 
Says that her experiences of living with pain have made her more focussed and other people have noticed that she is happier.
 
Explains that the Disability Discrimination Act now means that employers have to make reasonable adjustment for people with disabilities.
