I am a 63 year old woman and I was recently diagnosed with having gallstones, I am awaiting an operation to remove my gallbladder,does anyone know if this is the best course of action, as I have heard some people say they have been ok and others that they have still had problems.

Hi I was diagnosed with 3 gallstones 2 years ago and have since avoided any really spicy & fatty foods so far i have avoided having an operation to have gall bladder removed, i have not had much pain since going on this diet where has before i had pain all the time. not saying you can avoid it but it may help to try avoidence of certain foods first, good luck
